Social Media Stat of the Month: Mobile is King
Any contending social media platform optimizes its content for desktop, tablet, and mobile access. That’s just good business sense. However, some people may not realize how instrumental mobile devices and social media are in accessing information, making dinner reservations, checking price comparisons, etc.
Among the 7-plus billion people on earth right now, 1.97 billion are active mobile users when it comes to social media. At twenty-seven percent, that means more than a quarter of the world’s population uses mobile devices to access social content.
Using social media to promote your brand’s content proves an effective way to gain fast and free exposure. However, if someone goes to your website from their mobile-optimized social app and finds that your site does not complement the mobile screen layout, you will lose conversion chances.
Make sure that your website is as mobile-friendly as any social media app. Just because the desktop or tablet version appears to flow well aesthetically doesn’t mean the same case for smartphones. Many site hosting programs such as WordPress permit users to preview their webpages through desktop, tablet, and mobile views simultaneously.
Remember to test your mobile site frequently, especially when you add new permanent content to it. If a quarter of your potential traffic comes through smartphones, you don’t want to give those users a subpar visiting experience on your site. Having a beautiful mobile site design will only strengthen and enhance your brand.
