Ways to Humanize Your Company on Social Media
For brands to be successful on social media, they must act like people engaging with other people. Engaging with your audience allows you to build stronger relationships and humanize your brand.
Use everyday language
There is no need for industry jargon or buzzwords on social media. You don’t need to impress anyone with your vocabulary. First, you must understand your brand’s personality so you are able to speak with customers; the rest will flow naturally.
Make people the face of your social presence
Instead of using your logo, consider using a face. Share photos of your staff so visitors can get a feel for who you are. They’ll be happy to know there are real people behind the scenes.
Talk in first person
Your social media accounts are being run by people, so make sure you talk that way! Use ‘we’ instead of the name of the company.
Share content in real time
Make it a habit to spontaneously share content that isn’t on your content scheduler. Post current specials and sales occurring, or even things happening in the office.
Be available and engage
If someone is available to post regularly from your social media platforms, they should be able to respond back to people’s posts and comments. Small gestures can go a long way in building rapport.
