Our Founders
When Jake Cornelius was a Stanford senior, he watched freshmen struggle with tests he handled easily. Those freshman, he thought, simply needed better study skills. That was the start of his tutoring career.

About the same time, Charlie Cole was at Yale balancing his studies and rowing on Yale’s crew team.

“That really taught me how to manage my time,” he said.

What Jake and Charlie learned about studying in their universities became the basis of Milestone Academic Counseling, which helps high school students develop Ivy League study skills.
Our Tutors
Ivy+ Stanford graduates who have gone on to become graduate students, Olympic athletes, and educators. Every tutor is as empathetic as David and Madeline whom you see pictured elsewhere on this site. Our tutors are mentors high school students can relate to.

Working With Parents
Charlie or Jake will meet with you to determine what your child needs. That can be one tutor to work on a specific study skill or several tutors to work on class specific topics.

While your child is being tutored, Charlie or Jake will act as managers, keeping you informed about your child’s progress, making sure you’re satisfied. Your manager’s job is to think ahead, devise study plans, coordinate with tutors, check with students, even talk to teachers if you want. And, above all, report to you.

Our tutoring is tailored to your child. No canned presentations like some other programs.

We not only match techniques to your child, we match tutors. Some of our tutors have learning disabilities, but learned techniques that helped them graduate from Ivy League schools. As a result, kids with learning disabilities have been helped by our learning strategies.
