Our Mission

Hopewell Valley Community Bank strives to be a profitable, competitive, and socially conscious community bank, available 24 hours a day, seven days per week, in its quest to become the premier financial institution of choice for small business and consumer financial services in Mercer and Hunterdon Counties and surrounding areas.

Our Promise

We are committed to building a reputation for excellence, being a responsible neighbor in the communities we serve, delivering our products and services with the care and professionalism…exceeding expectations.

Our History

Hopewell Valley Community Bank was chartered during the summer of 1998 under leadership of a prominent local businessman joined by eight influential local residents and a professional banker. This group initiated a community offering of common stock raising more than $5 million by initial offering closing on October 30, 1998. Total capital increased to approximately $7.8 million through an extension of the initial offering period to January 15, 1999.

HVCBank opened for business on February 16, 1999, at its present Pennytown branch in the Pennytown Shopping Village at 145 Route 31, Suite 10, in Hopewell Township, New Jersey. The bank subsequently opened its main office on November 29, 1999, at 4 Route 31 South, Pennington, New Jersey. In 2001, we determined it was time to develop new markets, and we opened our first office outside the Hopewell Valley on November 26, 2001, at 3800 Quakerbridge Road in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. The bank then grew into Cranbury and Flemington with loan offices and into Hopewell Crossing, Ewing, Ringoes and Princeton with full-service branches.

Hopewell Valley Community Bank is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance, and its deposits are insured by the FDIC up to legal limits.*

Through the recent wave of bank consolidations in New Jersey, numerous locally based community banks have been acquired by larger, regional and multi-state institutions, many headquartered outside of the State of New Jersey. HVCBank is committed to serving its local community by providing customer access to bank officers and decision-makers. The bank believes it is possible to offer its customers access to the latest in banking technology as well as a full line of depository and lending products without sacrificing the highest standards in personalized customer service. In addition, the bank’s officers and personnel actively participate in the civic, not-for-profit, and charitable organizations which serve the communities in its market.
